Jinju City was finally selected for the ‘2021 Drone Demonstration City Construction Competition Project’ hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

According to the city on the 25th, in February, Jinju-si, Sacheon-si, Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam Techno Park, Gyeongnam Provincial Geochang University, ANH Structure, MGIT, Manmul Workshop, and Woojin DNF were jointly participating as representative institutions in Gyeongnam-do in February. A consortium was formed and participated in a contest to build a drone demonstration city.

On the 21st, at the Government Sejong Convention Center, officials from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and operators selected as the demonstration city attended the signing ceremony and the commencement report.

From June to November, the Gyeongnam-do consortium will start the demonstration of long-distance drone logistics delivery linking Jinju-Sacheon-Goseong in western Gyeongsangnam-do from National Road 33 as a starting point, and pioneering flight routes for the future urban air traffic (UAM) era.

In addition, individual projects that reflect the characteristics of participating local governments will also be carried out in parallel, and Jinju City will demonstrate the establishment of a drone delivery service in connection with ANH Structure, a local company, and a self-developed public delivery app, as well as the establishment of a safety and environmental drone management system for industrial complexes.

Drone, which has emerged as a new growth engine in the era of the 4th industrial revolution, is a promising industry that is expanding its scope to disaster and safety, industry, and leisure beyond the past military purposes. Various initiatives have been pursued.

Since last year, we have been directly nurturing drone experts by supporting the acquisition of drone national qualifications for those in charge of drone-related tasks in order to cultivate practical skills for using drones. is in progress

In addition, by participating in the private, private, and military drone consultative body in Gyeongsangnam-do in April, the government is concentrating its administrative power on establishing a foundation for building a test bed using drones and preparing countermeasures for safety and security.

Jinju City is expected to occupy an advantageous position in the drone industry by gaining more momentum by attracting related companies and creating a foundation for nurturing the drone industry with this demonstration city designation.
