Jinju City to nurture the urban air transportation industry in earnest

Jinju City will start full-fledged nurturing of the UAM (Urban Air Traffic) industry. On the 10th, the city held a working-level meeting with related organizations to foster the UAM industry at the Cultural Lecture Room of Jinju City Hall.
On this day, Gyeongnam Technopark, Korea Ceramic Technology Institute, Korea Test Institute of Industrial Technology, Defense Technology Promotion Research Institute, Gyeongsang National University, Heize Aviation Co., Ltd., ANH Structure Co., Ltd., Angellux Co., Ltd., Micro Engineering Co., Ltd., Brains Lab Co., Ltd., Hansung S& Twelve institutions related to the UAM industry, such as I.I.
UAM is an air transportation means that transports people and cargo in the sky over the city. It is a concept that encompasses aircraft development, infrastructure construction, and services. It is a promising food industry that is expected to reach $1.5 trillion in global market size by 2040. . The government is also promoting the project with the goal of commercializing some UAM services in 2025 through the announcement of the K-UAM roadmap and the formation of the UAM team Korea. Competition among local governments to preoccupy the industry is expected to be fierce.
Jinju has excellent manpower in the aerospace sector, an existing strategic industry, as well as promising companies with relevant public institutions and technology in the innovative city. Starting with this meeting, the city plans to form a consultative body to foster the UAM industry in the future.
Since 2016, the city has continued its efforts to foster the PAV (Personal Air Vehicle) industry together with Gyeongnam-do, Sacheon-si, and Goseong-gun, and has held the K-PAV (UAM) international conference in Jinju-si every year. This year, the 6th conference will be held at the Gyeongsang National University Convention Center on November 5th.
